Hi group
I thought I would post some links that may be of interest .
AVI movies seem to cause much problems with many people, which is a shame
as their potential quality is far higher
for a given file size . the following link was posted recent in another
group for a avi player of wonderful simplicity
Its only 150k but it works a treat does not write to the registry, simply
unzip to a folder and create a link to desktop
I still cannot understand how such a small programme can work so well.
www.avipreview.com
it will happy play partial download without fuss of Divex player without
all the crap spyware that Divex is loaded with
if you aren't running the latest media player you may also need to
download the latest codex for mp3/4
To play most of the ZZ vids, you need to install the Indeo Video codec
5.x. This codec was developed by Intel, but later sold to ligos who now
charges for it's use:
someone did however find a site where you can download this codec for
free:
http://www.soft-ware.net/multimedia/video/kompression/p00660.asp
This is a German site, but just click on the big Download button under
"Indeo Download" on the lower right of the page. Then select the
"Download-1" link. Save the file to disk, then double-click it to install
the codec.
hope this is of use to some of you
