Many thanks Sticky, the dates certainly tie in but I notice a few faults on
the pic. She is entering harbour but under full sail, absolutely not done,
usually topsails only. And anyway the sails are drawing well and the flag
fluttering well, which would indicate a strong wind. She is also firing a
cannon, from the foremost gun, maybe a salute but certainly not under full
sail. Also given the speed she would be travelling with all canvas spread
the small boat at the side would not be there at all or in immediate danger.
Anyway, many thanks for confirming the dates, and I apologise re the civil
war, my mistake and I do know better. Just wanted some confirmation which
you kindly gave me and I can make some adjustments to my files etc. PM.
