I'm not really sure what could be causing this PM.  I can split my
copy ok, and I'm sure we both got it from the same source.  If you are
splitting it from CD, check to make sure JAS is not set to split into
the same directory as the original.  Also, make sure the file isn't
open or being used by another program.  Other than that, I don't know
why you can't split it.
