Billy, your experiments at working around corrupted vids with missing
parts are noteworthy. However, you seem to be so intent on "fixing"
them that you're ignoring the basic *cause*.
I sometimes do wonder, with all of the ongoing discussion of news
servers, why it is that some people seem to have a fetish about
sticking with a service that flatly *doesn't work*. This is an
excellent example.
If you're even vaguely serious about downloading vids, which you
appear to be, then you're paying Newsfeeds no less than $9.95 / month
for their 10 gb/month service. That figure is *exactly* what you'd pay
Easynews for *20 gb/month*. It's a mere $3 less than you'd pay
Newscene.
The difference is that you'd never miss a part. You wouldn't be
pouring all of this time and effort into trying to make broken vids
work, and then enduring the work it takes just to watch the fragments
*after* you've done your "repairs."
Wouldn't it be a whole lot easier, less time consuming, and vastly
more satisfying, to just get all of the parts to begin with, and
simply join and enjoy a good movie??
Would there not be some additional satisfaction gleaned from paying 10
bucks a month for a reliable service, as versus throwing that 10 bucks
down the toilet for a "service" with a long-standing reputation as one
of the worst there is?
I truly wonder, and marvel, at just *why* people like you continue to
endure, and fight it, and work at it, and throw your money away.
Changing news services does *not* involve rocket science. It's
actually a remarkably simple thing to do. Why is it that you don't??
