And now I have to make a further comment, and I mean no disrespect
towards you, but:
I am pissed that I let that "pig" crack go by so easily.
Not pissed at you, but at myself.
Ya see, Tat, I knew the lady.
OK, not in the "biblical" sense, and not even as a close friend, but I
knew her, personally.
She would be the first one to admit that she wasn't "pretty", what
with that pockmarked face, but man, she had a very decent body, *and*
most importantly, IMO, she had heart.
If you were a friend of Pearl's, you knew she would stand behind you,
no questions asked.
She had many friends, and none of them ever had an unkind word to say
about her.
You were in a financial blind, ask Janis.
You needed to borrow an amp, ask Janis.
You needed someone to raise their hand on yer behalf, ask Janis.
Etc, etc., etc,, ask Janis, and she would help you, if she could.
Never, in a million fucking years, would she have put a friend into a
situation like your old lady did.
Hell, if her brother had attacked you, it would probably have been her
that went to jail.
But, if you did go, for whatever reason, when you got out, not only
would you have had all your stuff, but none of it would have been
touched.
In short, she was a real man's woman, a woman with grit, and a woman
to ride the river with, period.
It's just too fucking bad that there aren't more women like she was.
I am, as a friend of hers, that I didn't say this earlier.
I miss her.
