Well, I suppose it all depends on your sound system.
I have a way chic goochie type sound card, and some awesome Labtec
speakers, and I most definitely *can* hear a distinct difference.
I usually rip CD's at above 300, average, and that's why I was totally
blown away with the DESS (.ape) format.
Fuckers are consistently above 600 @ 44 Hz, and bro, that is humming
along close to original quality.
But, like I said, the damned files are up in the 12 - 20 MB's, and
that is nothing to sneeze at.
OK, OK, stop yer crying.<s>
In a few days, I will rip the JA's Surrealistic Pillow, just for you,
promise.
I was going to do it earlier, or later, last year, but, well, you
change yer socks more often than I change my underwear, and so,,,,
And no, I'll be god damned if I am going to catalog all 400+ CD's &
bootlegs, that I have.
It's pretty simple:
You ask, if have, you get.
You ask, I don't got, you don't get.
I got some blues CD's that go back to the 1950's, a ton of Stones, and
stuff all in between.
Mostly I am stuck in the 1960's -1970's rock scene.
My latest acquisition is the complete *Velvet Underground* series.
Awesome, really fucking awesome.
We are probably not all that different, except that you are taller,
while I am better looking.
BTW, you divorce that bitch yet?
