Thank you. Unison 2.2 doesn't seem to have any problems with large
newsgroups. I downloaded all the headers for a.b.tvshows (79,588,899)
available on Newsdemon NSP without any problems while also having
headers from four other newsgroups.
Someone (Jack) suggested trying 2.1.10. If that doesn't work for me,
the older versions of Unison are still available on the Panic website.
Unison used to work just fine for me although I did occasionally
encounter database issues. Solution you suggested has always worked
for me, although reloading headers after killing database was a pain.
I've figured out most of 2.2 but it has some issues:
1. The 'Get Latest' and 'Get More' functions don't seem to work. The
'Get All Posts' function seems to be the only way to download headers.
2. It loads headers from oldest to newest so I have to load an entire
newsgroup to get the latest headers. The older versions loaded newest
first so I only needed to load a small group of headers. I could also
work backwards in time, downloading small blocks (200,000) of headers
to find what I wanted.
I want Unison to browse headers. When we are searching for specific
shows, my wife uses nzbplanet to get the NZB and SABnzbd for
downloading.
