I tried renaming WorldCrisisH_20141206.mp3 to .acc but it didn't
change anything.  I downloaded WOEIH_20141213.aac and it played fine,
so my setup is OK with .acc files.  Let me know if you can think of
anything else.

I wish you all the best with your health issues.  Hospitals are great
places to stay away from.
