Simon Rattle and the CBSO - Frankfurt, 1995
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From the Radio Times
"Sir Simon Rattle was principal conductor of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra from 1980 to 1998, forging one of the greatest conductor/orchestra partnerships in the history of British music and their fame spread far beyond these shores.
In 1995, after embarking on a complete cycle of all nine symphonies in Birmingham and London, he took the CBSO and his musical marathon to Frankfurt. The widely acclaimed Frankfurt cycle - including overtures as well as symphonies - has never been broadcast but can be heard in its entirety over five evenings this week."
