!VA - African & Reggae Favourites # 1-9.nfo
These are selected rips (all at 192 kbps via Cool Edit Pro) of nearly 1000 C120 cassette tapes I've recorded since the early 1970s. All were recorded from FM programmes in the UK, almost all from John Peel's, Andy Kershaw's or Charlie Gillett's various broadcasts. Quality is extremely variable, depending on the state of the heads in the nine or ten different cassette decks that were used over the thirty years the recordings took place. There are also many truncated tracks, though most DJ talkover has been eliminated.
