Here we find Mats Leven becoming the gold that guitar, Martin Kronlund , sets before him. Kronlund, is best known for his work as producer (Joe Lynn Turner, Phenomena, Gypsy Rose, Lover Under Cover ) and its spectacular collaboration with David Reece (Reece/Kronlund), seems not an ax for naming bands). Definitely not a great guitarist, but he has something that brings advantage over the music that he has been doing lately, personality and a clear idea of ??what you want to do.
Completing the lineup is Mikael Carlsson on bass (Lover Under Cover, Rage Of Angels) and Perra Johansson on drums (Coldspell, Phenomena).
The album begins with "Footsteps On The Moon" to blame for Stargazer come to mind and will not leave all the way on the album. It is a great topic to start as it gives a dramatic and serious air which is a breath of fresh air today.
"The Fall" is sinking in deep and dark, following the Leven records show that manages to combine melody and drama giving a wonderful depth to the subject.
A hard return and more accessible with the title track to the album, "Back On The Streets" , perfect for climbing speed and reduce the intensity of the album, giving a balance that many will appreciate.
We close the disc with deliciously bizarre with "Start A Fire" , which includes the unique addition of some electronics around the disc in the beginning, more hammond and a chorus of pure anthem, all well embedded in the subject, I personally enjoyed this one most on Back On The Streets.
Another wonderful madness is "Crazy Horses" , but this time more focused on the Hard Rock of the eighties, with a decent rhythm title, Leven are more badass and fun. But the gem is the aptly titled, "Freaking Out" ??, a song that sounds David Bowie. I had to make sure it was not a cover. It is certainly a daring closure to this disk, but at times it seems that finally inspired the boundary between forced and crosses.
As a paste, Kronlund many times repetitive sins and can cause the disc is choking those who like more accessible styles. You are warned, here is zero sugars ...
