I d/loaded these to compare to the versions
that celrat posted. Both #865 & #867 from
celrat had massive clipping - #869 had slight
but tolerable clipping.
The versions Griffin posted were recorded at
what I would consider to be a level below
optimal, but that is how you avoid clipping.
It is easier to add gain to a recording than
to remove clipping. You just might end up
with more noise/distortion during the quieter
sections of the program.
Maybe all this isn't really important because
the program is only broadcast/streamed at 149 kbps.
I know when I post my captures I make sure that
the resulting mp3 doesn't show any clipping.
Just good practices that I learned from many
years of recording to tape.
Thanks again Griffin for helping
all of us fill our "holes".
