I may be all wrong, but I believe it works like this:

Cowboys are like a clearing house. The obfuscated files come in here,
repackaged by cowboys and then disseminated. A lot of them have <PW>
in the header, so password protected. I personally leave them alone:

          1. I dont want to know what goes on there
                               2. I'm guessing at the above explanation
          3. Not enough bandwidth available to play
       around at hide and seek.
          4. Safer it is to use nzb search engines.
