Mary,

Don't know about Lilly, but I use X-News and it doesn't have
many (okay, any) bells and whistles. Yes, I know there are
newer, better, etc. programs. But I like the simplicity of X-
News. I have tried some of the others, but always returned.
I try to find older items using NZBIndex and Binsearch. In other
groups (books, audio, comics), the posters are more tolerant of
folks that are not as informed and plugged-in as the are.
Requests are handled with helpfulness and usually a swift re-
posting of the request. There are a few that try to help by
educating the requestors, and they are very helpful. So much as
to write out a lesson plan on how to use NZBIndex.
It took me no time at all to fill Lilly's request. No pain at
all.
I may be out of line responding to you, since your response was
not aimed at me. If so, my apologies. I just thought a more
helpful response (how to easily look for instance), a re-
posting, or no response at all instead of a seemingly snarky
comment would have been more appropriate in a polite society.
