DESCRIPTION
==================
David Moufang and Pete Namlook keep on going. Already number 23 in the series and the last installment in the Stranger triology. Whether you like their style or not, you can always expect innovative creative original ambient with tasty grooves and catchy tech house rhythms.
A different concept than either the first and the second Stranger in terms of length and composition.
Part I brings us a massive track of 50+ mins which is mainly driven by a repeated housy melodic subharmonic sequence which keeps the environment throughout the track full of joy. Roughly the track consists of three parts. Starting off with EMS tones and french whispering vocals reminiscent to Stranger I, soon enough a smooth bass-hihat rhythm with deep percussion is brought in. The second part puts the focus on fine detailed shifts in the background and elements accompanying the melodic sequence like pitched synth lines (which sound like a preset from the Roland Vsynth), Namlook's familiar synth play and piano. In the last part the foreground becomes less static as a result of the rhythm that gets more attention and a typical housy synth groove which makes the sphere even pretty funky. Although the sound pallet doesn't change that much, the music is throughout the track like a happy warm breeze. The way the track progresses from begin till end is very subtle. This can be the benefit of the "live" element in the music.
The second part is basically a more straightforward mix with lots of shifts showing their outstanding editing skills. However it is not that interesting when you listen first to part 1 as it is a little bit too much of the same.
So won't expect ground-breaking music here, but it's probably one of the best joy-full easy-listening albums they made so far. I keep getting back to this album. - ilmar2350 on February 23, 2011
