hi,
i see that the world will continue without me
i have recuperated just fine (almost)
i have new respect for my body
they gave me iv morphine in the hospital and also percocets every four hours
there are two active ingredients in opium
morphine and codeine... they make the percocet with the codeine
if they just gave me the opium,
we could have all saved a lot of money and trouble
but no one asks me
too bad
i seem to be the only one that knows
as far as converting to 24 bit
i have this to say about that
most of the time, i can't tell the difference
many times, the 24 bit recording is of something that was never engineered
with such precision in the first place
like from conventional mike, recording or editing equipment, conversions, or whatever
i mean, i don't even believe that a lot of the 24 bit makes a better difference
to younger people that can hear better than i hear
i wear reading glasses, probably don't hear as well either,
i also am sixty years and counting
but maybe sometimes it really does make a difference and its special
i can play it all
i might prefer the 24 bit many times
its always welcome
it couldn't hurt
its gotta have better shelf life
the only drawback is the extra cpu to play it, or convert it for cheaper phone appz
and the extra space to store it
i don't have to convert all my old cds to 24 bit
that would more than double my current 8 terrabytes of music storage, with backup
and thats nothing compared to my movies and tv
the only thing good about collecting, is that i actually watch much less of the tv
i spend more time collecting it
most of which i am pretty sure i will never watch
you'd think i'd be smarter by now
anyway
the 24 bit stuff that is posted i usually think at least someone thinks is special
many times, a prolific artist will only have a couple of 24 bits cds,
and those are usually his best or most popular works
its good to see such a big collection here in newsgroups
i try to sift and see which ones i like
the latest one i am listening to now is
Electrix - 2014 III
so thats for that
its good to see randy and griffith still doing that you do
i haven't really woken up yet
i just wanted to check in and say thanks
and say that yes, i do have more room for a few 24bit flac
