DESCRIPTION
==================
Translated from Dutch:
I had lost sight of Akikaze, the sympathetic Dutchman Pepijn Courant, for a considerable time. Not that his music had not interested me, but his publications in the past ten years have passed me; The latest Akikaze album in my CD collection was "Leap In The Dark", and it was released in 2002.
Now I found Lambert Ringlages Spheric booth a whole new Akikaze album: "Sense Of Urgency". Since I felt - as the title already said - a great urgency to take the CD with you.
I do not really need to make so many words. Akikaze can be clearly seen from the first note. The sounds have not changed much compared to previous productions. That all sounds very familiar; Unfriendlyly, one could say: Nothing new. Well, that's only true. Pepijn has been using most of the sounds for a long time, but something has already been done in style. The tracks are much longer, and many sequencer passages are heard. The title "Mercury Rising" even includes Ruud Heij, and Ruud is, so to speak, specialized in sequencers.
But what Akikaze is still outstanding, these are the melodies! The album is full of it, and so Pepijn's music remains audible.
My recommendation: For nostalgic (for the sake of reason) and people who have completely overlooked Akikaze so far, "Sense Of Urgency" is definitely suitable. If you know Akikaze's back-catalog, you should check it out before you buy. - I personally like the album well. - Andreas Pawlowski
