DESCRIPTION
==================
When I first heard about this release, I thought MAYBE it was a over-priced bootleg. Good thing I was wrong. 'Solar Wind' is a complete length live set the band did when they were the support act for Nik Turner on the 1995 U.S. trek. Violinist Simon House is joined by another early Hawkwind member, Del Dettmar on synthesizer as well as Len Del Rio on keyboards. Clocking in at nearly an hour, 'Solar Wind' gives the listener a somewhat unforgettable experience. I liked the CD's last three tunes the best, the Del Dettmar Improvisation, "The Forge Of Vulcan" and a cover of Pink Floyd's "Interstellar Overdrive". Other tracks worth mentioning are "Lunar Sea" and "Tritium". Cool cover art. - Mike Reed VINE VOICE on August 9, 2004
