I went through the same thing with GigaNews. Several years ago I posted a
long-out of print Duke Ellington CD in the Chronological Classics series.
Ellington estate's lawyers complained, and GigaNews made me promise never
to do it again.
Even worse, several months ago they cut me off for a similar "crime" and
included the letter of complaint that they'd supposedly received about
me. I studied it and realized that it didn't concern me at all--it was an
item I never posted, and it was posted by some other person. To make
sure, I wrote to the complainant and he quickly responded that he agreed
that GigaNews had screwed up--his complaint had nothing to do with me.
I wrote to GigaNews, and forwarded the complainant's note to them--and
they still refused to reinstate me. I had no choice but to leave them and
switch to a different News provider.
I'm glad you had a nicer and more helpful experience with them than I had.
