Ape is not more Windows-centric than any bias erroneously
makes it.
If you want to fiddle around with audio files like you seem
to want (a good intent), your best bet is shell scripting under
Linux (using a myriad of small tools in that script).
There's great satisfaction in feeling empowered, not to be
contained within MS- or Apple-dictated bounds and possibilities.
