This is what I've done:
- Artist field contains artist/conductor/orchestra
- Composer field contains the full name of the composer (b.1966)
(1740-1810), etc
- Album Artist contains the Last Name of the composer, or Various
- Album title is: Composer's last name(s) - Works (bitrate if
different from CD redbook) - Artist/Orchestra/ensemble/conductor
If the CD contains more than 3 different composers it is labelled as
Various (VA). The library is sorted Artist Album, Album name, and
track number.
Examples:
VA - Fritz Reiner (Complete RCA Collection D24) The Reiner Sound
Album Artist field: Various
Album title field: Fritz Reiner (Complete RCA Collection D24)
The Reiner Sound
Rachmaninov - Piano Concerto #2 - Van Cliburn, Fritz Reiner (Complete
RCA Collection D57)
Album title field = Folder name
Berlioz & De Falla - Les Nuits, El amor brujo - Fritz Reiner (Complete
RCA Collection D60)
Album Artist field: Berlioz & De Falla
Album title: Cage - Sonatas and Interludes for Prepared Piano -
Aleck Karis, John Cage
Artist: Aleck Karis, John Cage
Genre: 20th Century
Composer field: John Cage (1912-1992)
Album Artist field: Cage
It took me a VERY long time to tag everything, including hunting down
cover art.
Hope this helps
