Found a fix!
An app called Bigasoft Audio Converter.
It will split .ape and .flac files and convert them to .aiff or whatever in
one pass – and doesn’t need the .cue file since it splits by chapter
markers.
I’ve now used it for Disk * and another couple of jobs and worked well each
time, even naming the tracks from the metadata.
So last night we treated ourselves to a complete Vivaldi evening of 3 disks.
Sadly had to stop there since we live in an apartment building with
neighbours above, below and alongside, so will continue today.
So far I much prefer the choral work to the Alessandrini, but the bigtest is
the solo parts, where for various works the latter has a star-studded line-up
of Piu, Kozena etc. And like most contraltos these days Mingardo is much
under-rated – I know contraltos are out of fashion for period works, but I
like her performances here.
