Queensryche
A Turkey-Free Thanksgiving
Condition Human Fall 2016 Tour
24/96 HD Audio Edition
November 26, 2016
Trees
Dallas, Texas
Lineage: Church Audio CA-11 Cardoid Mics - > Church Audio Ugly 2 Preamp (Gain setting +15db) -> Sony PCM-M10 -> 24/96 WAV -> Mastered by techtuts using Izotope RX4 & Ozone 5 -> Audacity 2.1.2 (tracking/fades) -> Trader's Little Helper 2.7.0 (FLAC level 8 lossless compression & verification) -> YOU
Thank you to techtuts for mastering this recording!!
Very clean, excellent audience recording.
Disclaimer: You may hear minor wind noise during the quieter portions of this recording.
Unfortunately, I was standing underneath a high powered ceiling fan while taping.
I did not expect my CA-11 mics to pick up the light gusts of wind.
Next time, I'll use my Church Audio "Dead Rat" windscreens at Trees!
This was only the second show I have taped/attended at this venue.
This was my first time to see Queensryche since their tour with Judas Priest in 2005.
I also caught the band with Iron Maiden and Rob Halford on the Metal 2000 tour.
I was a big fan during the Empire era. However, I lost interest in the band around 1995.
Once it was announced that Geoff Tate had been replaced by Todd La Torre, and that Queensryche would be focusing on material from the first 5 albums, I decided to give the band another chance. I was expecting a return to the group's classic sound with the 2013 Queensryche album.
I was pleased by this release and even more so by 2015's Condition Human.
Once it was announced that the band would be performing at Trees during Thanksgiving weekend, I decided to attend the show.
The band delivered a tight 84 minute show, with no filler material from the "Tate Cabaret" era.
It appears that Michael Wilton has appropriated all of Chris DeGarmo's lead parts.
Relatively new recruit, Parker Lundgren has been assigned the role of rhythm guitarist.
I thoroughly enjoyed going Turkey-Free with Queensryche on Thanksgiving weekend!
Catch this band live when you can!
I dedicate this master recording to the memory of the biggest Queensryche fan I have ever known, my good friend, Keith West.
This was my first Queensryche show without my rock DJ buddy, Keith. Rest In Peace! You are missed...
Of course, the title of this recording is an homage to the vest wearing turkey that formerly fronted Queensryche.
Armored Saint and Midnight Eternal were also taped.
I'll share my master recordings of those performances soon.
The ONE. The ONLY.
