Maybe the problem is that there is only so much sleaze? Even with the
advent of Vinegar Solutions all that achieves is to take filims that
have posted here a dozen times over the decade plus that this group
has existed, (granted under a couple of different names), and repost
better quality versions. I don't know if the basic problem is that
the films are lost, ie: Lee Frost's collection is alive and owned by
his surviving daughter but she has no reason to release them and how
many companies out there want to pay for new-old material?
Plus Usenet has changed seriously in that the movie aspect seems to be
primary target and even though the majority of films here are really
for all intents and purposes abandoned or public domain movies remain
the target of the DMCA.
