One can only presume that after signing Peter Fonda, Bruce Dern, Nancy
Sinatra, (who might have used her boots for walking away from this
film), and Dianne Ladd they realized that they had blown their entire
budget and there was nothing left for paying writers to create a
script.
It's essentially a two part movie; Bruce Dern gets hurt and dies, the
gang gets ready to for the burial party.
Pay close attention to the iconic Peter Fonda "man am I cool" finale
scene or you might miss all that symbolism.
