Assuming you have been paying attention you remember Jim Kelly from
Three The Hard Way as the Kung Fu part of the team. I was a bit
conflicted with this film because his role as a Kung Fu master was
short lived in Blaxploitation and yet his persona was resurrected in
2009. The 2009 film doesn't fit for a number of reasons but Black
Samurai certainly does. It does not fail the meet the criterion.
Now in 2009 Jim Kelly was honoured by the film Afro Ninja and Jim
Kelly has a role. Of course the furtherance to this film is whether
or not the anime Afro Samurai stems from the same source.
Not sure anyone is dumb enough to pay attention to all these of films
and the cross implications to anime except me but I found this
interesting.
