Just noted this tag:
While I realize the need for conservatism as much as system Sentinel
than as a push back on liberalism ultimately every conservative value
that is not stolen/shared as an absolute will wither on the vine since
its root lies not in action but in maintaining the status of a system
group(s). I however find it amusing to note that the times that
either the left or right embrace typically demonstrate the opposite of
that which they extol;
1890s when a Vanderbilt could successfully keep costs low by enacting
child labour, especially in those dangerous jobs where a death pay out
was based not on future earning but current value.
The 1940s when it took a war to enforce America to embrace ethnicity
through people being first American and then of the old country.
To the 1950s when Conservative Capitalist America initiated the
largest socialist spending program in history via the Military
Industrial Complex all the while against a backdrop of white picket
fenced suburbia and a system reality where times were good because the
minorities knew their place.
Yep - the New Conservatism as also the Old Conservatism or more
succinctly as Roger Daltry put it: Meet the new boss, same as the old
boss.
Just an observation as I watch people like Ted Cruz decry ISIS while
simultaneously campaigning for his own analogous caliphate.
