Now the last time I was in Hong Kong I don't recall there being much a
black presence let alone those kicking the locals asses.  However we
have to keep in mind that as I have indicated before all Asians know
Kung-Fu and by extension all black people who go to Asia also know
Kung-Fu.

In some respects these Afro-Ninja offerings were merely a combination
of the Bruce Lee/Hong Kong martial arts films of the day.  At that
point in time Hong Kong was creating more films than Hollywood albeit
without the budget or international exposure, (now replaced by India
but have no fear I have no intention of putting together a Bollywood
sleazefest... I'll leave that to Mjello), so it only makes sense that
there would be some cross over, (ie: Chuck Norris, John Saxon and even
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar all starred in martial arts films that played
against the US standard).

Bamboo Gods and Iron Men is not the best but also not the worst of
this sub-genre.
