Hard to say if I am over thinking this set but if you consider the
original Blaxploitation films were made by white corporate America it
really isn't that different from the Rap genre where it was initiated
under one economic model and has turned into something quite
different. Would Spike Lee been able to make his movies without John
Shaft and Cleopatra Jones having opened those doors?
Either way it is interesting to look at the 'hidden gems' within this
pile of crap.
