Of course Blaxploitation wasn't limited to simplistic stereotypes of
the ghetto. It also tapped into the fear of the rise of groups like
the Black Panthers not only for the message of revolution but also in
response to the Manifesto edicts raised by Eldridge Cleaver who
proclaimed that the serial rape of white women was not in fact a crime
but an act of insurrection.
- Ironically Cleaver admitted to having raped numerous black women"for
practice" before moving onto the serial raping of white women. In
time he would renounce this philosphy and practice and ulimately
became a member of the Republican Party -
On The Streets makes no real sense except to touch on these themes of
bad behavior by both black and white males upon women of both races.
