Roger, I make this small suggestion to you but not to others, because
you actually care. Some others do not.
Some photographers/webmasters/posters don't take the trouble to change
the default name given by their camera to their images. That leads to
ten thousand pictures of a variety of different girls titled "IMG-xxx"
or "PIC-xxx" or "DSC-xxx" or a few other variations. A collector then
has a swarm of files whose names that bear no resemblance to the model
concerned.
Posters would not be inconvenienced much by running their files through
a batch renamer before posting and it would surly be appreciated by
collectors.
I don't know about the Windoze world but, for Mac users, (as you all
should be :-) a useful utility for doing this is Name Mangler

I can see some posters suggesting "well, why don't _you_ change the
names, you lazy moron" but what to do if a collector has an auto
download happening? A day later he has a folder full of

you get the idea. There is now no way of knowing the original names of
each series. (Unless each image is branded. And, even then, it's a huge
job (compared with the above simple suggestion to posters) for a
collector to manually sort all files into a bunch of different folders
then rename each.
Yes, I know it's not cool to make requests or suggestions to posters.
and a big thank-you. I hope the suggestion, being such a small one, can
be looked at in the warm spirit in which it's given. It can then be
adopted with minimum hassle or rejected with a dismissive wave of the
hand but still a smile on the face.
