The reason we have different newsgroups with different topics is so
that people can find what they are looking for easier.
People who are looking for Webeweb models might look in the Webeweb
group for instance, and hope to find Webeweb models there.
Persons looking for games might look in a games group, those looking
for music could look in a music group and find music there.
Lets suppose you like a variety of different music and the general
music group suits your tastes perfectly, but some others only like
classical, some only like rock, some only like country.
What you are doing is the same as if you posted rock music in a group
that was created for country music.
Sure, there may be one or two that like rock as well as country, but
most would appreciate it if you kept your rock music in the rock group
and left the country music group for those who are looking for country
music.
You should be posting your material in a group that is either
specifically for the type of material that you are posting, OR a group
that is for a variety of different material.
You should not be posting your material in a group that has a very
specific topic like Webeweb.
... And the answer to your question is No, usenet is not dead.
