I thought you were serious about it. Panic which sold Unison did stop
development on it when they released their last version. They do give
it away for free now but don't offer any support.
If you decide you want to try it download the older version 2.1.10
which is solid. the 2.2 version is very buggy with no more updates.
Oh and if an app locks up like the 2.2 would simply click the Apple in
the upper left hand corner of the desktop and then click Force Quit...
You then chose the frozen app it will probably say something like
Unison Not Responding, click it, it will then ask if you wish to force
close the app, click yes. Then you will get a notice if you wish to
report the crash to Apple, I usually click ignore but you can report it
if you like.
Almost all apps are self-contained, meaning they have all the files
they need to run inside the app and do not share files like they do in
windoze. e.g. dlls
So when you install an app it will not overwrite a file that will cause
another app to stop working and it is easy to uninstall as you can just
delete the app but it could leave other files lingering like if you had
the app loading at startup then at startup it would be looking for the
app you deleted so it is better to use an uninstaller if it has one or
an app like App Zapper that will remove those footprint files as well.
I'll let you get back to playing and I like your signature!
