We may be talking about two different things. We rar files here to
preserve the file modified dates, not to make the files smaller for
posting. The earliest modified dates are the most desired. If a pic file
is posted openly, the modified date will change to the date it is
downloaded.
Using PicCheck or The!Checker to check and sort files against csv's from
collectors who have these collections complete, after downloading, will
make sure you get the exact original files that were posted many years
ago, or whenever the original buyer or collector aquired them. If a pic
or video doesn't pass the crc check, it has been altered and the search
for the originals continues. It can be addictive :)
Collector posted his csvs and Wintermute posted his csv's before that
along with a version of PicCheck configured specifically for Vlads. I
went by Wintermute's csvs and then posted many sets that were not in
them or gave him the links and he posted them. Collectors csv's are the
most up to date that have been posted here and are a good catalog of the
known Vlad collection to know what is out there that you may need.
Here is the home page of The!Checker if you may want to read about how
csvs work: http://members.shaw.ca/archies-place/csv_files.htm
