I have been lurking for almost twenty years, but I rarely post
anything. I very much appreciate the work and generosity of
the many posters. But you might want to recognize the very
important contribution of us lurkers -- MONEY.
The Usenet Service Providers don't run their servers for the
sole benefit of a 100 posters. They run their business for the
fees paid by 100,000 lurkers.
I understand the supposed need to encrypt the posts to thwart
the"Take Down" notices and more importantly the keep the posters'
accounts from being cancelled. Although I fail to see why anyone
cares about bots downloading posts. And I certainly don't believe
encryption does anything to stop the spammers.
For what ever reason the posters feel the need to encrypt their
posts, it is their prerogative. But please make the passwords
easy to find. The lurkers are not Leeches, they pay the great
majority of the money to keep the Usenet service providers in
business.
I did find this one, but it was far from obvious. The hint was
contained the a reply to a reply of a completely different thread.
When several lurkers asked POLITELY, ma did not kindly repost
it. Instead, like any good TROLL, he just stir things up.
Then he started bragging about how important and smart he is.
Well, I had NEVER seen his nick before, and I was curious. So
I searched through almost 2,000,000 posts in a.b.p.vlad (back to
2007) and I did not find a single post by 'ma' before two weeks
ago. Which just confirmed by suspicion...
Any time someone feels the need to talk about how important,
smart or rich they are, it is really an expression of their true
feelings of inadequacy. So run along little, unimportant troll,
