In posting the nic change of what happened in 2008 and now in 2014 I find
that a substantial number of prior posts are set to expire on Astraweb.
The cutoff date is September 15 and I posted a Mega post on the 16th going
forward. So I am downloading everything for future use and/or archiving
into the Cloud now as they say.
But I was talking about vids. I posted a file of dubious quality - in
those days almost all material was shot using a Sony HandyCam a good City
Block away with a long-range lens. 22x optical was standard - but you
could buy an optical lens to extend that to 44x.
So I downloaded as I have stated - ran the par files and I am 6 blocks
short of a repair. But that is when DivFix comes in. Now the video works
but wtth telltale signs of repair. Cannot fix it within Windows 7 as
Microsoft who published the codec did not Digitally Sign the codec - so Win
7 says nope.
Stick it over in a Virtual Machine and will work there. You will find a
preview of the file to be posted following.
