The only MF I have ever subbed to was the Super Issue, I never posted
that site rip as a zip file because I rarely have had the space to
manipulate a 10 G + file (well over 5G but I would need 10+ G
available to zip the files). I did however post the file names as they
appeared on the site.
The MF rips I have posted had been advertised as complete, I remember
one corrupt file in the first or second issue so far, and I remember
checking it across 2 or 3 different sources. The names can get changed
for (I'm sure) a few reasons. If I were to post a complete site rip
zipped you would end up with probably at least a hundred different
folders with about 10-20 files in each, not to mention another folder
containing about 10 to 20 sets of folders.(Later issues had fewer
pics/sets). I would rather not have to change folders myself to view
less the 20 pics at a time, but that's not an excuse for the
filenames. The fact that I posted these files as they were contained
in their zips is my excuse.
Many of the pics would have duplicate file names. If I post the Issue
unzipped and you downloaded them to a single folder, they your
newsreader would handle them (likely) one of two ways. Either it would
overwrite the files with duplicate file names, or it would rename the
files to a similar scheme as what you are seeing posted. I suspect
site ripping software would handle the files similarly, but it would
also allow the option to maintain the paths for the files, mine did
anyway.
I posted my Super Issue (way back when) and included the path when I
was posting it so if you wanted to go through the effort you could d/l
them to their rightful place, but that was likely not the easiest way
to retrieve either.
I know TI posted a large amount of these issues a year or two ago, (TI
I beleive, perhaps Fachan, one of the big 3 over in yab), I am sure
some of my sets are from them, and others are from other methods.
If you have read the posts, I believe you would see, that I am not
insisting, or have not insisted on any floods, I am merely filling
requests with what I have. I can post the zip files but I think all
would agree that not every MF model is for everyone, so by posting the
files singularly, people can decide to d/l what they want as best as I
am able to allow them without spending hours sorting them. Also the
file names in my zips are exactly as I have posted (so far) because it
was others who did not maintain the integrity of the filename. If you
would like to sort them for folks, and repost them, I suspect few
would object. Or perhaps that would take too much effort on your
behalf, but not mine.
