Am receiving No Such Number in Group Errors. I view these to be subtle
attempts of censorship. To get around such issues I am now posting a
slightly different way. I will use yENC exclusively. If such error
occurs - and you are using Xnews - other NewsReaders probably do as
Xnews does - but I have not switched since NewsXpress did not handles
yENC when it came out - About 15 years ago.Never liked Forte Agent - but
proplr swear by it.
Anyway...
Save the article/file as a single text document (Alt 6 in Xnews). This
will skip over the missing article number and save all parts Unencoded
as a Text file. Use yEnc32 decoder and decode the text file. Join
parts together using any joining software that does not complain about
mis-sized pieces.
If you use Media Player Classic - Home Theater you can play the joined
file as is. MPC will play the avi or MP4 without need of repair. It
will skip over the missing piece similar to the way DivFIX repairs a
broken AVI file. If you have a broken MP4 file - try MPC and capture
the screen as an easy way of repair.
If you wish to repair then use the PAR files - saving them as text and
decoding as above.
Hope this helps for all other files you may run across on Usenet.
