The Soviet medium tank of the 1930s, the T-28, was big, slow and had
thin armor. There were 490 of these tanks produced between 1932 and
1939, and about 400 of them were in service at the beginning of
Operation "Barbarossa", mainly in the 3rd, 5th, 8th, 10th, and 15th
Tank Divisions. This is a command version of the T-28, apparently
abandoned due to a mechanical breakdown or fuel shortage. Note the
short-barreled KT-28 76.2mm gun.
