More than sixty German divisions were involved in the costly fighting
for Moscow. That meant sixty times an average of 5000 to 10,000 men.
Through their trench telescopes they were able to watch the life in
the streets of Moscow. It all seemed within arm's reach; But their
reach was too short. Their strength was insufficient.
