In the late fifties a trainee at Ft. Jackson dropped a live granade.
The instructor was supposed to pick it up and throw it in a hole.  He
wasn't fast enough and blew his hands off.  This looks like a much
better set up.  I've often wonder what became of the instructor.  He
would be our age (John and Charles).  Prosthetics weren't very good
back then.
