Russia-Operation Typhoon.- German assault gun forcing Russian T-34 to
a stop, capture of Russian tank crew;-taken prisoner tank crew of Lt.
Dmitry G. Lutsenko, at Kalinin, during a raid on 21th Tank Brigade HQ
on Oct 1941-German troops attempting to convince crew they will not be
shot.
I believe this incident was fairly well known to the panzer troops and
if what I read about it is correct the Germans were pretty impressed
with the bravery of this tank crew who fought until out of ammo. Love
to know what happened to the Lt because I believe the Germans stupidly
published his correct name.
