The communists and fascists were cut from much the same cloth. The
communists seem to have been, if anything, more ruthless. Eisenhower
relates a conversation with Zhukov after the war about clearing mine
fields. The communists just marched men across them to clear the
mines by blowing themselves up. The Iranians did much the same
against Iraq, but used children to save trained soldiers.
