German soldiers berate newly captured soviet POWs. German troops in
the east were especially irate about atrocities committed against
captured and wounded German troops. Another thing that outraged German
(combat) troops was the use of explosive rounds (dum dum bullets)by
(some) soviet soldiers. These rounds caused terrible wounds or death
to whoever happened to be unfortunate enough to be hit by one.
What the German army and SS was doing to captured prisoners of war
make scenes such as this especially hypocritical considereing that
Nazi Germany engaged in deliberately genocidal policies towards Soviet
Union prisoners of war resulting in millions of deaths of Russian POWs
that the German Army was committed to care for by the Geneva
Convention.
