Just as an FYI, reposting something someone else posted with the
permission of the copyright holder does not make it public domain.
Public domain means the owner has forfeited its intellectual property
rights or the rights have expired. If the owner is in fact going after
people who post their pictures on the net, that's an indication they
have not forfeited their rights.
BTW, this was purely meant as a clarification on the concept of what
defines public domain. It was not a hit against Puff-Adder or anyone
else who has posted on the newsgroups. It would be hypocritical of me
to assess any "guilt" on such posters if I'm downloading the material
they post.
