I forgot an important step here. IIRC I also had to force EV2's plugin by
qlmanage -g "/Applications/EdgeView
2.app/Contents/Library/QuickLook/ComicLook.qlgenerator"
My typical troubleshooting technique for this is to compress (zip) the
unneeded app(s) and then trash/delete to hide the qlgenerator(s). Just
resetting and/or restarting sometimes doesn't get the desired mappings.
With later versions of OS X just moving the app out of /Applications
may be enough, but I've done this for years and Apple used to be less
picky where an app was located.
Be careful your actually moving the app (hint: ⌘-drag) and not just
dragging an alias (good ol' Apple always knows better than the
owner/user).
