Not exactly a surprise, but it the color separations aren't clean due
to aging, it's harder to extract a clean 2D image. I found an old EC 3D
comic that used red/green. The same action script I used on the Eclipse
Stooges reprints did not produce good results. They were very similiar
to the St John stooges results in the leftover overlapping ghost image
fragments.

I was able to extract a readable image with manual adjustment > Black &
White. But the more degraded the image the more difficult it is. The St
John pages were in such bad shape, it may not be possible even eith
this method. I tried for a while but couldn't produce usable results.
