The Garden
All of the stories that I am going to tell you are the dreams of Efeh.
Efeh, the Great Mother, is dreaming us. We are nothing but her dream.
Everything that you see on the Earth and in our sky and in the deep,
distant night sky is just a dream. You are a dream. I am a dream.
Everything here is but a fleeting dream.
Our whole Universe is inside the womb of Efeh, the Great Mother. The world
in which she lives is very difficult for us to describe. The difference in
size between her world and ours is very great.
in a tree. The tree is in the middle of a beautiful garden, and the weather
in that land is always pleasant. Adah and Efeh have thick fur growing on their
skin. Everything they need is up in that tree; they never have to come down
for anything. It is the Tree of Long Life. There is never any danger that
they will fall out of the tree because Adah and Efeh have fingers on their
feet. They climb around and play in the big tree and pick and eat the nicest
fruit all day. They just grab onto branches with their hands or their feet
and swing around, enjoying themselves.
Snake is also there. He is the friend of Adah and Efeh. He advises them as
to which branches hold the tastiest fruit. The more fruit they eat the better
they know the difference between good and evil. The more fruit they eat the
more years they add to their lives. The more fruit they eat the more they
notice how good looking the other one is. They make love over and over again
every day. When nighttime comes they lay down in the crook of a big branch
and go to sleep. Every night they have big dreams.
In that land it is now nighttime. Efeh is sleeping next to Adah. One night
for them is a thousand, thousand years for us. Right now Efeh is dreaming us
into existence.
very center is our tiny, tiny earth with its little sky over it. This world
is over, she will awaken. Because we are only her dream, when she awakens
and opens her eyes we will disappear forever.
How the Stars Were Created
In the beginning of our Universe, long, long ago, nothing existed except empty
space. It was the empty space of the womb of Efeh, the Great Mother. It was

tiny something. A tiny, tiny, tiny something. Not much of a something, but
anything was better than nothing. It was like a single seedpod, only a thousand
times smaller. You could almost see right through that single pod; it was
almost
transparent.
Very slowly the pod began to stretch sideways. It was very soft. That took
about
ten thousand years. It stretched farther and farther. It got really squat and
long. All of a sudden it snapped in two! Now there were two identical, almost
clear pods.
After awhile those two pods started to stretch, too. They were really gooey.
They stretched and they stretched. They got longer and longer. That took
another
ten thousand years. Then all of a sudden, whap! They split apart. Now there
were four tiny, transparent pods in a little group.
The dividing continued. And it got faster. One year, two years, three years.
Snap! Whap! Flop! All of the pods kept dividing. By now this little thing was
still only the size of the tip of an arrow.
Four years, five years, six years. If you could have gotten up really close to
this thing you would not have believed what you saw. You would have had to
really
squint your eyes. But if you had looked very closely you would have been able

Divine
Child. You would have expected to see this tiny, tiny baby sucking its thumb,
but
legs! It was very long and very stiff. It was almost transparent, just like
the
rest of his body.
Seven years, eight years, nine years. Ket Nehtohrob kept getting bigger and
bigger,
and you could see him using his little hands to hang onto his huge stone. And
he
just kept on sucking and sucking. His stone was getting really red!
Ten years, eleven years, twelve years. Very gradually soft little hairs started
to
sprout at the base of his huge stone. And the more he sucked and sucked on his
giant stone, the bigger and bigger his gems got. They were expanding. They
were
getting really, really big. Way too big. His stone was so huge and stiff and
red!
Then it started to turn purple! And his giant gems swung from side to side.
All of a sudden his gems began to tremble. They shook and they rattled. They
wobbled and they bounced. Then there was a tremendous explosion! His
quicksilver
hit the back of his throat so hard that he started tumbling backward through
space.
Then "Kaboom!" that divine water exploded out of his mandala! It was like
lakefulls
of very hot, wet, bright juice! It shot out with such force that it was like an
ocean
wave! "Foooosh!" an immense mist began to fill the Universe. Each drop of mist
was
infinitely bright and very, very hot.
Ket Nehtohrob kept spewing for a full day. And that stuff just kept spraying
out of
his behind. "Foooosh! Foooosh!"
Finally, after one whole day, it was over. The Universe was finally full of
infinite,
white specks of wet, hot light. That is how the Universe came to be filled with
stars.
