It is fully understandable why aircraft like this are left behind.
What doesn't compute is why aircraft which cost ~$300 million each are
based at such high risk bases.
It also doesn't make sense to not store each one of these gems in
hardened / reinforced shelters. Most us would not park a Lamborghini
on the street as a steady diet, nor would we park one in a structure
that is vulnerable to realistically anticipatable natural disasters.
