and have been thru more than my share of hurricanes/typhoons. It's a balance
between how much you can afford, the contractor wants to spend on construction
and the premium insurance companies want to charge...
I live in earthquake territory...the Hayward fault 10 miles to the East, the San
Andreas fault 10 miles to the West...and the insurance companies only provide
earthquake insurance because state law requires them to make it available...the
premiums are so high that no one can afford them...at least I can't.
